Thelma Cavazos-Fitzgerald, MSN, FNP
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Thelma received her master?s as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2001 from the University of Texas at Pan American. She is certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Thelma has worked in various healthcare settings which include: Family practice, Psychiatric practice, High Risk Infant and Pediatric practice. She has also worked in a variety of hospital settings including pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, Postpartum and Medical/Telemetry unit and has been a Registered Nurse since 1997. Thelma has recently joined the Nova healthcare team. Originally from South Texas, Thelma is fluent in both English and Spanish. PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY Thelma believes that is it important to understand and respect individual?s cultural and spiritual beliefs about health and wellness. An individual?s belief system has a great impact on his or her perception of wellness. By listing and trying to understand individual needs, a practitioner can learn how to better manage their health.
